Healthy bodies and inquisitive souls
The name is inspired by the Japanese word for the kombucha culture (literally ‘mushroom’). Illustration was developed for bottle labelling, reflecting a suite of four Kinoko flavours. The designs use semi-abstract, organic forms and incorporate intriguing haiku poetry to further communicate our brand’s enigmatic personality. The website goes into depth about the product itself, while adding personality with a gentle greeting, distinctive navigation and charming transitions.

The Flora of Kinoko
We have interpreted elements of the natural environment where the Kinoko flavours originate. They have been illustrated in a semi-abstract way and so should be seen as suggestive rather than strictly descriptive, raising curiosity and encouraging the viewer’s imagination and creativity.
The tone of voice is playfully enigmatic.
The adventurousness we embody, and which we appeal to, comes not from literal expressions of world travel or extreme activities. Instead, it comes from our teasing, ‘can’t quite put your finger on it’ quality. We invite the adventurous/curious by our nature as a niche beverage, but also in the way we communicate.
